GOVERNOR ORDERS ALL IN FLORIDA TO STAY AT HOME FOR 30 DAYS
April 1, 2020 – Governor DeSantis issued Executive Order 20-91, “Safer at Home,” which states that all persons in Florida shall limit their movements and personal interactions outside of their home to only those necessary to obtain or provide essential services or conduct essential activities. Essential activities include obtaining: food at grocery stores and at restaurants that provide delivery or take-out service, medicines, veterinary services for pets, gas, and cash. The 30-day order takes effect Friday, April 3, at 12:01 a.m.
FORT MYERS BEACH PROHIBITS RENTALS FOR 90 DAYS
March 30, 2020 – the Fort Myers Beach Town Council passed Declaration of Emergency Regulations No. 2, which prohibits all hotel and vacation rentals, including reservations, for 90 days.
FLORIDA SUSPENDS VACATION RENTALS FOR 14 DAYS, AS OF MARCH 27
March 27, 2020 – Governor DeSantis issued Executive Order 20-87, which orders all parties engaged in rental of vacation rental properties to suspend vacation rental operations. Vacation rentals are prohibited from making new reservations or bookings and shall not accept new guests for check-in for the duration of this order.
The Governor also issued Executive Order 20-86, which requires all persons who enter the State of Florida from an area with substantial community spread, to include the State of Louisiana, inclusive of those entering the State of Florida by roadways, to isolate or quarantine for a period of 14 days from the time of entry into the State of Florida or the duration of the person’s presence in the State of Florida, whichever is shorter.
