Estero

Visiting Estero Bay

Situated in the center of beautiful Southwest Florida, Estero offers world-class shopping, adventurous outdoor activities and nearby beaches for soaking the sun.

Estero Bay, a popular waterway for kayaking, separates the Village of Estero from many of the nearby Gulf beaches, but residents and visitors to the area can take advantage of neighboring beaches within a short 15-minute drive. South of Estero, several Lee County beaches line the Gulf waters.

If your flying, Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) is less than 8 miles, and only a 10 minute drive, from Estero.

Outdoor Activities

If the outdoors is more your speed, for many years, Estero was a citrus community, but today, it serves as a relaxing vacation destination. Visitors will be calmed by the nearby beaches and intrigued by Estero’s Mound Key Archaeological State Park. Rising more than 30 feet above the water, miles from shore, ancient shell mounds transform the landscape of Estero Bay.

Made of bones, shells and pottery pieces, this is believed to have been the ceremonial center of the Calusa Indians. Access to the site is by boat only, but the journey is well worth it, according to VISIT Florida®.

The Village of Estero Springs is one of Florida’s youngest cities, located between Fort Myers to the north and Bonita Springs to the south.

Estero is also the global headquarters for car rental company Hertz, Herc, heavy equipment and tool rentals.
